Friday's Women's Tennis Roundup

Wofford 4, Elon 3
The Wofford women's tennis team won a close 4-3 match over Elon University on a cool Friday afternoon at the Reeves Tennis Center. The Terriers won the doubles point in a tiebreaker at the #1 position and then won three of the six singles matches for the victory. The Terriers won the first game in all three doubles matches. Chloe Elliott and Brianna Wilbur earned a 6-2 win at the #3 position. The Phoenix claimed a 6-4 win at the #2 position. The #1 doubles pair of Breda Brennan and Lily Woods jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Phoenix took a 5-4 advantage. Wofford tied it at 5-5 and broke serve for a 6-5 lead. Elon then broke serve for a 6-6 tie. In the tiebreaker, Brennan and Woods won 7-3 to earn the doubles point for the Terriers.

North Alabama 5, Samford 2
The Samford women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision at North Alabama Friday afternoon. With the loss, Samford fell to 7-5 on the season. North Alabama improved its record to 7-2 with the win. Samford won the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. On the No. 2 doubles court, Sara Erenda and Grace Keller defeated Emma Ansorge and Mathilde Delaney, 6-4. At No. 3 doubles, Eleni Liakonis and Meredith Taylor earned a 6-4 win over Ada Karabacak and Senem Ocal.
