Sunday's Women's Tennis Roundup

Georgia State 4, Chattanooga 3
The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team suffered a narrow 4-3 defeat at Georgia State during non-conference action on Sunday afternoon in Atlanta, Ga. Chattanooga (6-5) sees its five-match winning streak snapped after the defeat to Georgia State (1-7), who captured their first victory of the spring season. The Panthers jumped ahead in the all-time series 10-9 following today's 19th meeting between the two programs dating back to 1987.

Liberty 4, UNCG 2
The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team fell 4-2 to the Liberty Flames on Sunday afternoon at the UNCG Tennis Courts. The Flames secured the doubles point for the 1-0 lead before going into singles play. Yu-Yun Chen and Celina Joseph secured the 6-3 victory over Elisabeth Birkevold and Lauren Thomson on court three. Alexandra Dodashev and Olivia Gallagher tied up doubles play in a 7-5 win over Daniella O'Neill and Maria Turchetto on court one. However, Anika Lemus and Yoanna Radulova were able to hold on for the 7-5 win over Sydney Bly and Raegan Mitchell on court two to give Liberty the 1-0 advantage.

Kennesaw State 5, Western Carolina 2
Western Carolina nearly pulled off its second-straight win despite falling in the doubles point on Sunday afternoon but dropped its women's tennis road matchup at Kennesaw State, 5-2. WCU is now 6-7 on the year while the Owls hold a 3-4 record. Angela Perez and Madison Schwarz opened the day with a 6-0 win on the doubles third court for the Catamounts, giving WCU a chance to take the critical early point. Andrea Redondo and Isabella Sambola dropped their matchup 6-2 on the second court, while Jade Groen and Chloe Schwarz battled before falling in a hard-fought 7-6 decision on court No. 1 as the Owls took the 1-0 lead headed to singles play.
