The Samford women's tennis team picked up a dominating 4-0 win over Alabama State Friday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center. With the win, Samford's record improved to 4-1 on the young season. Alabama State fell to 1-4 with the loss. In doubles, Samford won on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts to pick up the first point of the match. Samford won the singles matches and No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 to secure the 4-0 win.

Southern Miss 5, Chattanooga 1

The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team battled in its first match of the weekend despite dropping a 5-1 non-conference contest at Southern Miss on Friday afternoon in Hattiesburg, Miss., at the Southern Miss Tennis Facility.
