Western Carolina 6, Presbyterian 1
It was an eventful Sunday afternoon at the Catamount Athletic Complex as three singles matches went to third sets but the WCU women's tennis team rallied for a 6-1 win over the Presbyterian Blue Hose. Freshman Zoe Lui secured the win for the Catamounts on the sixth court, recording her first Division I victory over Presbyterian's Mary Ellen Longmire.
UNCG 6, Hampton 1
The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women's tennis team claimed a 6-1 victory over the Pirates of Hampton on Sunday afternoon at the UNCG Tennis Courts. The Spartans claimed the first doubles match of the day after a win by default due to Hampton not having a third doubles team. Olivia Gallagher and Alexandra Dodashev went on to defeat Serena Bryan and Diana Starodubtseva, 6-3, on court one. Masa Mitic and Meri Okuwaki defeated Sydney Bly and Raegan Mitchell, 6-3, on court two. However, UNCG went into singles play with a 1-0 advantage.
Florida State 6, Mercer 1
The Mercer women's tennis team dropped its match at Florida State, 6-1 Sunday afternoon in Tallahasse, Florida. The morning got started with doubles matches where Florida State Millie Bissett and Laura Putz defeated Mercer's Marina de Diego Quinones and Ines Hömberg 6-0. The Seminoles would then clinch the doubles point on court one where the Seminoles' Maria Romero and Eva Shaw defeated Marie Bannmeyer and Dzhastina Mikhnova, 6-1.
