The No. 62 ETSU women's tennis team opened Southern Conference play with a 7-0 shutout of Mercer on Monday afternoon. Monday's win boosts ETSU's record to 7-4 on the season and the Bucs have now won five matches in a row and six of their last seven contests. In one of its most dominating performances of the season, the Bucs won all three doubles matches by identical 6-2 final scores to clinch the doubles point for the fifth consecutive match. ETSU's stellar play continued in singles. Mercer did not win a set in any of the six singles contests as the Bucs logged their second straight 7-0 shutout. Furthermore, ETSU has now won its last 14 matches against SoCon opponents with its last loss coming on April 15, 2023 at Furman.

No. 40 Furman swept Belmont, 7-0, Monday at the Beaman Family Tennis Complex in Nashville, Tenn., to open the team's spring break trip to Tennessee. In doubles action, the Paladins won two matches to take the point. At flight one, seniors Ellie Schulson and Sara Snyder, who rank 58th nationally, defeated Aly Getty and Anastasi Zholdakova, 6-4, and at number three, seniors Alexa Griffith and Grace Thomas beat Libbie Hamilton and Sarah McElrath, 6-3. The flight two match was unfinished, with 64th-ranked senior Jess Dawson and sophomore Macy Hitchcock leading Viktoria Kliimand and Hana Sokolovic, 5-3.
