Saturday's Women's Tennis Roundup

Western Carolina 6, Gardner-Webb 1
Western Carolina bounced back in a big way on Saturday as the Catamounts downed Gardner-Webb in a 6-1 rout in women's tennis action on-campus at the Catamount Athletic Complex. The victory is the fifth of the season for the Catamounts (5-5) and their fourth on their home courts. Gardner-Webb falls to 2-3 on the season and 1-2 against the Southern Conference with losses to WCU and ETSU and a win over UNCG.

Georgia Southern 5, Wofford 2
he Wofford women's tennis team was defeated 5-2 at Georgia Southern on Saturday at the Wallis Tennis Center. The Eagles won the doubles point and then won four of the six singles matches for the win. In doubles, the Eagles claimed the #2 position as Breda Brennan and Emma Sorensen earned a 6-2 win. Wofford tied the doubles point with a 6-2 win by Chloe Elliott and Brianna Wilbur at the #3 position. At #1 doubles, Grace Agster and Lily Woods were down 1-5 before coming back with three straight games to make it 4-5 before falling 4-6.
