Samford's Nicastro named SoCon Women's Golfer of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford's Gabi Nicastro has been selected as the Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week for the week of Feb. 26-March 4.  

Nicastro earned individual medalist honors at the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate. The victory was her fourth tournament win of the 2024-25 season. 

The Samford sophomore shot rounds of 73, 70, and 77, finishing 4-over par in the 63-player field. Nicastro, a native of Huntsville, Alabama, has received the weekly honor four times this school year. 

The Bulldogs finished strong among the 12 teams they hosted, placing third overall.  

Samford will return to the green on March 9, as they travel to Gadsden, Alabama for the Chris Banister Golf Classic.
