The Wofford softball team (20-15, 2-4) took down the Winthrop Eagles (22-15) 3-2 in walk-off fashion on Tuesday, April 1, at Hope Field. After tying the game in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Terriers needed 11 innings before Hannah Madox drove in Brianna Stanley for the game winning run.No. 6 Tennessee 4, Western Carolina 0
The Western Carolina softball team kicked off the month of April Tuesday night in Knoxville as the Catamounts were on the wrong end of a 4-0 shutout at the hands of #7/6 Tennessee at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.
Sophomore Sydney Dirks roped a two-out single in the top of the seventh inning to break up the Lady Vols bid at a no-hitter. Classmate Maya McPherson reached on a hit by a pitch and a fielding error by Tennessee earlier in the contest.
The Samford softball team returned to action tonight as they hit the road to face No. 24 ranked Alabama. The Bulldogs entered riding a three-game winning streak but fell behind early before ultimately dropping the game 9-3. The Bulldogs fall to 23-15 on the season overall but sit atop the SoCon with a 5-1 record in the league.
