Saturday's softball roundup

James Madison 8, ETSU 0

Louisiana Tech 12, ETSU 8

East Tennessee State University softball fell to James Madison 8-0 (5 innings) and 12-8 to Louisiana Tech on Saturday.
The Dukes dominated the morning slate. ETSU only managed a pair of hits from Cameron Young and Halle Laramie, while JMU started the scoring in the second, manufacturing three runs off a groundout, single and sacrifice bunt.

Furman 10, Holy Cross 0

Furman 8, Morehead State 0

Furman's offense scored 18 runs over 11 innings and the Paladins tossed back-to-back shutouts, including a no-hitter by Emme Buzhardt, to claim a pair of victories on Saturday at the Furman Softball Classic at Pepsi Stadium.

Jacksonville 4, Mercer 1

Visiting Jacksonville scored a trio of runs on as many hits and four errors in the first two innings alone to provide more than enough run support for right-hander Skylar Waggoner as the Dolphins slipped past Mercer, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon in the MUSB Invitational at Sikes Field.

UNCG 9, Tennessee Tech 6

The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) softball team extended its win streak to nine with a 9-6 victory over Tennessee Tech on Saturday afternoon at the UNCG Softball Stadium.

Chattanooga 5, Lamar 4

Chattanooga 4, Illinois State 2

Chattanooga senior infielder Acelynn Sellers led the Mocs to back-to-back wins Saturday at the Frost Classic. The Mocs defeated Lamar 5-4 and Illinois State 4-2 behind a pair of home runs by the senior infielder.

Wofford 3, SC State 2

Wofford 4, Eastern Kentucky 2

The Wofford softball team (11-3) won games against South Carolina State (4-5) and Eastern Kentucky (8-4) to close out the Sparkle City Invite with a 4-0 record on Saturday at Hope Field.
