Wednesday's Men's Tennis Roundup

UNCG 5, Campbell 2
The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's tennis team won 5-2 over the Campbell Camels in a non-conference dual on Wednesday afternoon at the UNCG Tennis Courts. The Spartans captured the first point of the day by winning the last two of the three doubles matches. After Campbell's Andrew Fragasso and Luke Tollenaar defeated Andrew Black and Devon Moskowitz, 6-2, William Elmers and Luke Tomson earned a 6-3 win over Adi Dagan and Aleksander Hudjec. John Gabelic and Tymofiy Khrystyuk teamed up to win the final doubles match for UNCG, 7-6 (3), giving the Spartans an early 1-0 advantage.

UNC Asheville 4, Wofford 3
On Wednesday afternoon, the Wofford College men's tennis team was defeated 4-3 by UNC Asheville at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown. The Terriers won the doubles point, but the Bulldogs answered with wins in four of the six singles matches to secure the victory. Wofford started doubles with a 6-4 win at the #3 position by Daniel Clivio and Jack Burdell. The Terriers were able to clinch the doubles point with a 6-4 win at the #2 position by Ian Rasheed and Hugo Rask. The #1 doubles match was unfinished with the Bulldogs leading. The Bulldogs won the first two singles matches at the #3 and #4 positions. Jack Deveney was able to win 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) at the #2 position to tie the overall match at 2-2. Wofford took the lead as Robbie Young won the #1 position by a 6-2, 7-5 score. The final two matches went to three sets, with the Bulldogs winning at the #5 and #6 positions to take the match.

No. 65 FAU 4, ETSU 0
The ETSU men's tennis team saw its seven-match winning streak come to an end on Wednesday with a 4-0 loss to No. 65 FAU. Wednesday's loss drops ETSU's record to 8-5 this spring. FAU began Wednesday's matchup with a pair of 6-3 wins in doubles to clinch the first point of the match. ETSU's duo of Pedro Cressoni and James Sim were leading their tilt, 5-4, before it was stopped. In singles, the Owls clinched the match with wins in the No. 3, 4, and 5 singles slots. Martin Garcia-Ripoll won the first set, 6-4 and was up 5-2 in the second before play was halted.
