Chattanooga Men’s Tennis Sweeps The Citadel 7-0 in SoCon Opener
The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team earned a dominating 7-0 sweep at The Citadel during its Southern Conference opener on Saturday morning at the Earle Tennis Center in Charleston, S.C. Chattanooga (10-7, 1-0 SoCon) has now won its last eight SoCon openers dating back to 2018 following today's victory over The Citadel (4-18, 0-4 SoCon). The Mocs have won seven-straight matches over the Bulldogs and have earned victories in 14 of the last 15 meetings.

The Citadel Bulldogs Fall to Mocs and Mavericks on Saturday
Ted Bagwell / Diego Ladino were the lone bright spot in the first match, winning 6-4 at 2-doubles. After being swept in doubles by UNO, Stroumpis won by a walkover in 6-singles, but the Mavericks won four of the other singles matches to clinch the match. Reece Beckendorf was the star of match two for the Bulldogs, winning 6-3, 6-1 to earn his first win at 3-singles this year, improving to 1-1.

S.C. State Hands Furman 6-1 Loss On Saturday
The South Carolina State Bulldogs handed the Furman men's tennis team a 6-1 loss Saturday afternoon at the Hardeep Judge Tennis Center. Furman drops to 5-9 on the season while South Carolina State improves to 6-3 overall. The Bulldogs captured the doubles point following wins at No. 1 and No. 3. Mikalai Bankou and Novak Novakovic topped Cole Burnam and Connor Laymon at the top spot, 6-4, while the No. 3 contest saw Iliyas Maratuly and Ivan Pauliuchenka defeat Theophile Joly and Matt Kandel, 6-2. In the No. 2 match, Nicolas Dispas and Nico Snyder won their team best ninth contest of the season with a 6-4 triumph over Aissa Benchakroun and Julius Augunas.
