ETSU 6, Samford 1
The ETSU men's tennis team handed Samford its first loss in SoCon play on Friday as it upended the Bulldogs, 6-1. The victory boosts ETSU's overall record to 10-6 and 4-1 in SoCon action. For the second straight match, the Bucs jumped out to an early 1-0 lead by securing the doubles point. The duos of Francisco Lamas/Juan Andres Listo and James Sim/Pedro Cressoni won their matches by scores of 6-3, 6-4, respectively.
The Samford men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at ETSU Friday afternoon. With the loss, Samford fell to 15-5 overall and 5-1 in Southern Conference play. ETSU improved to 10-6 overall and 4-1 in league play. ETSU won the doubles matches at No. 2 and No. 3 to take the first point of the contest. At No. 1 singles, Samford's Sandeep Mohandoss defeated Peter Kalocsai, 6-1, 6-4. ETSU, however, won the other five singles matches to take the 6-1 win.
Chattanooga 5, Furman 2
The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team found itself back in the win column with a convincing 5-2 victory over Furman during late-season Southern Conference action on a warm Friday afternoon at the UTC Tennis Center on campus. Chattanooga (11-10, 3-2 SoCon) earns its third win in the last four matchups against Furman (6-13, 2-3 SoCon) after snapping a 13-match skid that spanned from 2006-2022. The Mocs moved into a tie with the Paladins for fourth place in the league standings at 2-3 after today's result.
The Furman men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 Southern Conference road decision to the Chattanooga Mocs on Friday afternoon at the UTC Tennis Center. Furman falls to 6-13 on the season and 2-3 in SoCon play. With the win, Chattanooga improves to 11-10 overall and 2-3 in the conference. The Mocs swept through the doubles portion of the match to claim the point for a 1-0 lead over the Paladins. In the No. 3 match, Cortland Grove and Carson Gompert topped Sam Fancutt and John Rado, 6-0, and Jakub Jupa and Gabriel Castillo followed at No. 1 clinching the point with a 6-3 win versus Matt Kandel and Connor Laymon. Ryan Mudre and Jaxon Lamb closed out doubles with a 6-4 victory at No. 2 against Nicolas Dispas and Nico Snyder.
