Friday's Men's Tennis Roundup

Samford 7, Chattanooga 0
The Samford men's tennis team earned its fifth-straight win with an impressive 7-0 victory over Chattanooga Friday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center. With the win, Samford improved its season record to 14-4 overall and 4-0 in Southern Conference play. Chattanooga fell to 10-8 overall and 1-1 in league play. Samford swept the three doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead.

The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team suffered a 7-0 shutout at Samford during Southern Conference action on Friday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Chattanooga (10-8, 1-1 SoCon) has dropped its last five matches to Samford (14-4, 4-0 SoCon) in the recent series' history as the always-tough Bulldogs currently sit atop the league standings this spring. Samford has also won nine of the last 10 over Chattanooga dating back to the stretch's start in 2011.

Jacksonville State 5, Furman 2
The Furman men's tennis team suffered a 5-2 setback to the Jacksonville State Gamecocks Friday afternoon in non-conference action at Mickel Tennis Center. Furman drops to 5-10 on the season while Jacksonville State improves to 8-6 overall.
