Wednesday's Men's Tennis Roundup

Mercer 4, Furman 1
Junior tandem Hod'Abalo Isak Padio and Amen Prince Gandonou tacked up a 7-4 tiebreaker win in the feature match to finish out a doubles sweep for visiting Mercer, and the Bears followed with three quick wins in singles play to fuel a 4-1 win over Southern Conference nemesis Furman on Wednesday at the Mickel Tennis Center. It was the fifth-straight win for the Bears (9-6, 4-0 SoCon) who now boast the program's longest winning skein since a string of five-straight victories late in the 2018 campaign.

The Furman men's tennis team dropped its final home match of the season Wednesday afternoon, 4-1, to the Mercer Bears in Southern Conference action at Mickel Tennis Center. Furman falls to 6-12 overall and 2-2 in the SoCon. With the win, Mercer improves to 9-6 on the season and 4-0 in conference play. Prior to Wednesday's match, the Paladins held their Senior Day ceremony honoring Cole BurnamMatt KandelConnor LaymonElijah Poritzky, and John Rado.
