Samford 7, The Citadel 0
The Samford men's tennis team opened Southern Conference play with a 7-0 win over The Citadel Sunday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center. With the win, Samford improved its season record to 10-4 overall and 1-0 in Southern Conference play. The Citadel fell to 2-13 overall and 0-2 in league play. Samford swept all three doubles matches to take the early 1-0 lead. The Bulldogs then swept all six singles matches to capture the 7-0 win. At No. 1 singles, Sandeep Mohandoss defeated Noah Van Dyke, 6-1, 6-1. On the No. 2 singles court, Darcy Nicholls earned a 6-1, 6-1 win over Ted Bagwell. At No. 3 singles, Hayden Menon defeated Bradey Minnich, 6-2, 6-3.
The Citadel men's tennis team returned to Southern Conference play on Sunday afternoon, losing to Samford, 7-0. Minnich won the most games in singles play for The Citadel, taking five in this 3-singles match. The Bulldogs continue to showcase three freshmen in the bottom half of the singles lineup with 4-5-6 today being Reece Beckendorf, Stroumpis, and Graham Hardin.
Chattanooga 5, Presbyterian 2
The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team found itself back in the win column following an impressive 5-2 victory over Presbyterian during non-conference action on Sunday morning at the Templeton Tennis Courts in Clinton, S.C. Chattanooga (7-6) has now won six of its last seven matches following today's win over Presbyterian (5-6). It marks the first road victory over PC in Clinton since the 1979 season after previously dropping the last three road contests to the Blue Hose over the years.
Wofford 6, South Carolina State 1
The Wofford College men's tennis team was defeated 6-1 by South Carolina State University at the Reeves Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs earned the doubles point and then won five of the six singles matches to earn the win. The Bulldogs had a 3-2 lead in all three doubles matches. They claimed a 6-3 win at the #1 position and a 6-4 win at the #2 position to claim the doubles point. The #3 pairing of Daniel Clivio and Jack Burdell was up 5-3 when the point was clinched.
