Senior Matthew Smith finished 15th in the 5,000m to lead the Furman track and field teams Thursday in the opening day of the Raleigh Relays at the Paul Derr Track & Field Facility on the campus of N.C. State. The meet is one nation's first premier competitions during each outdoor season.

The outdoor season is here for the Catamounts as the Western Carolina track and field teams are set to make their first appearances at the NC State-hosted Raleigh Relays on March 27-28 and the Davidson Relays on March 29th.

Furman Set To Compete At Raleigh Relays

On Thursday, Furman will run in the men's 1,500m, 5,000m, 10,000m, while Friday's events include the women's 400m, 1,500m, 5,000m, 10,000m, and 3,000m Steeplechase. The Paladin women will compete in the 800m on Saturday.
