The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team remains atop the leaderboard after the completion of round two on Friday at the Sea Palms Invitational at the Sea Palms Resort.TEAM
- UNCG carded a five-under-par (279) in Friday's second round.
- The Spartans posted a 16-under-par (268) on Thursday to have an overall score of 21-under-par (547) through the two rounds.
- Villanova stands at second place on the leaderboard with a six-under-par (562) with rounds of 280-282.
- Host school and The Southern Conference (SoCon) foe Western Carolina is tied for 15th place with rounds of 291-294.
Butcher Climbs to Sixth, WCU Tied for 15th at Peoples Championship
Western Carolina sophomore Jace Butcher climbed three spots in the individual standings on Friday with a 1-under par 70 to enter Saturday's final round in a four-way tie for sixth place to lead the Catamounts at The Peoples Championship at the Sea Palms Resort. WCU slid into a tie for 15th after 36 holes, following up Thursday's round of 291 with 294 in Friday's second round, tied with UT-Martin at 585.
