Butcher Tied for Ninth, Catamounts 14th at Peoples Championship

Western Carolina sophomore Jace Butcher carded a season-low round of 3-under par 68 on Thursday to sit among a team-best tie for ninth place in leading the Catamounts to 14th overall after 18 of the scheduled 54 holes at The Peoples Championship at Sea Palms Resort. Butcher is just five strokes off the pace entering Friday's second round, while the Catamounts are only four strokes outside the team top 10 at their spring tournament.

UNCG in First Place at Sea Palms Invitational Through Round One

The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team is in first place through one round of the Sea Palms Invitational on Thursday at the Sea Palms Resort.
TEAM

• UNCG notched a 16-under-par (268) in round one on Thursday to stand atop of the 20-team leaderboard.
• The 268 score is the team's lowest round score of the 2024-25 season. The Spartans carded a 15-under-par (273) at the Dorado Beach Collegiate on Feb. 24.
• Davidson is in second place with a seven-under-par (277).
• The host school and The Southern Conference (SoCon) foe Western Carolina is in 14th place with a seven-over-par (291).
