Monday's men's golf roundup

Mercer Bears Open Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge at 10-Under

The Mercer men's golf team started the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge strong on Monday, shooting 10-under as a team to move into fourth place. 
Nathan Trodd led the way for the Bears, shooting a four-under 68 with six birdies to slot into a tie for seventh on the player leaderboard. J.T. Herman and Trey Mixon came in just behind Trodd at three-under for the first round and are tied for ninth overall. 

UNCG in Fifth Place Through Two Rounds of Maridoe Collegiate

The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) men's golf team currently sits in fifth place through two rounds of play in the Maridoe Collegiate on Monday at Maridoe Golf Course.
 
TEAM
  • UNCG carded rounds of 295-294 on Monday for a 13-over-par (589).
  • The Spartans are in fifth place across the 13-team field.
  • Oklahoma leads all teams with an eight-under-par (568).
  • The Sooners are the only team in the field with an under-par score after two rounds of play.
  • Arizona State and Oklahoma State are currently in a tie for second place with a six-over-par (582).
  • Alabama is just above UNCG for fourth place after notching a 10-over-par (586) in two rounds.
  • Host school North Texas is in eighth place with a 24-over-par (600).
  • The Spartans are the third-best team after day one in par five holes with a 4.78 average.
