UNC Greensboro gets road win, defeats Furman
UNC Greensboro recorded its fourth straight win, handing Furman a 58-50 loss at Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans went into the break leading by four points, and then outscored the Paladins 30-26 over the final 20 minutes to secure the win.
Kenyon Giles led the way for UNC Greensboro, putting up 19 points and a season-high four assists.
PJay Smith scored 17 points, while Nick Anderson added another 16 to lead the way for Furman.
Fort's season-high 36 points lead Samford past Wofford
Samford came back from a significant deficit and snapped Wofford's two-game win streak, winning 76-68 on Saturday afternoon at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. The Bulldogs trailed by as many as 16 points in the second half but made an improbable comeback to win the game.
Trey Fort scored 36 points to lead the way for Samford.
Wofford's Kyler Filewich led the charge for the Terriers, tallying 18 points.
Western Carolina takes down The Citadel
Western Carolina defeated The Citadel, 76-73, at the Ramsey Center on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs went into halftime with a 35-30 lead, but were unable to hang on, as they were outscored by eight points in the second half.
Marcus Kell scored 18 points to lead the way for Western Carolina.
Brody Fox recorded 23 points and eight rebounds to lead the way for The Citadel.
VMI gets road win, defeats Mercer
VMI defeated Mercer in a thrilling 80-71 back-and-forth affair at the University Center on Saturday evening. The Keydets went into halftime with a two-point lead, but the Bears kept fighting, resulting in six lead changes in the second half. However, VMI was able to take control late and come away with the win.
This win was led by a balanced scoring effort for VMI. Rickey Bradley led the scoring with 22 points. TJ Johnson added 19, while Augustinas Kiudulas also contributed 18 points.
Tyler "Chip" Johnson put up 19 points to lead Mercer.
Chattanooga downs rival ETSU 78-71; extends winning streak to seven
In front of a packed McKenzie Arena, the Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team battled its way to a seventh-straight win after capturing a 78-71 victory over longtime rival ETSU in key Southern Conference action on Saturday night.
Four Mocs were in double figures, led by Honor Huff's 19 points.
Quimari Peterson poured in a game-high 31 points for ETSU.
