ETSU claims home win over Mercer
ETSU recorded its third straight win, handing Mercer a 59-58 loss in a back-and-forth contest at the Freedom Hall on Wednesday evening. The Bears went into halftime with a three-point lead, but the Buccaneers would not go down without a fight. The sides exchanged the lead seven times over the final 20 minutes, with ETSU able to do just enough to come out on top.
Quimari Peterson scored 15 points to lead the way for ETSU.
Mercer was led by Chip Johnson, who recorded 19 points and seven boards.
Furman powers past The Citadel
Furman recorded its third straight win in dominating fashion, handing The Citadel an 85-42 loss at Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Wednesday evening. The Paladins started fast, accumulating a 33-point lead into the break. They did not let up in the second half either, increasing their lead to as large as 49 points.
PJay Smith scored 19 points to lead the way for Furman. Smith was dangerous from three-point land, connecting on 4-of-7 attempts.
Brody Fox recorded 14 points and six rebounds, and Christian Moore contributed another eight points to pace The Citadel.
Bailey leads Wofford past Western Carolina
Wofford were dominant in victory, powering past Western Carolina by a final score of 90-67 at the Ramsey Center on Wednesday evening. The Terriers started strong, and then left nothing to chance. They went into halftime with a 15-point lead and then put a bow on the victory by outscoring the Catamounts 44-36 in the second half.
Justin Bailey, Corey Tripp, and Jeremy Lorenz led the way for Wofford, contributing 18, 15, and 14 points, respectively.
Western Carolina was led by Marcus Kell, who recorded 19 points and eight boards.
