ETSU’s Seymour named SoCon Player of the Week
Senior logs third triple-double in program history
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU forward Jaden Seymour has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for all contests from Dec. 30-Jan. 5. The award is selected by the league office.
Seymour began his week logging a triple-double in an 84-69 win over VMI on New Year’s Day. The senior recorded 18 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, two blocks and a steal against the Keydets, shooting 8-for-11 in from the field in the contest. Seymour’s performance marked the third triple-double in Bucs history, joining Tim Smith and Courtney Pigram as the only ETSU players to accomplish the feat. The native of Charlotte, North Carolina, had 14 points, seven rebounds, two steals and a block as ETSU fell to Wofford, 81-78, on Jan. 4.
For the week, Seymour averaged 16.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 steals. Seymour currently ranked fifth in the SoCon in scoring (16.5) and rebounding (6.7).
ETSU (8-7, 1-1 SoCon) plays at Mercer (9-6, 2-0) on Jan. 8, before hosting The Citadel (5-8, 0-2) on Jan. 11.
