Saturday's Baseball Roundup

ETSU 13, Binghampton 5
Unlike in most games this season, Binghamton was able to score some early runs against the Buccaneer pitching staff in the first game of the day. However, ETSU's offense not only put numbers early but also late to overwhelm the Bearcats by a score of 13-5. Cooper Torres had his best game in a Buccaneer uniform in the win going 3-for-5 with two home runs, five RBI and three runs scored. Jamie Palmese and Grant Gallagher also slugged home runs in the win, while Cody MillerLenny Montesano and Tristan Curless all tallied two hits a piece to help fuel the Buccaneer offense.

ETSU 14, Siena 4 (7 innings)
Unlike in Friday's game between Siena and ETSU, the Saints had plenty of traffic on the basepaths on Saturday. Siena totaled 13 hits, but the Buccaneer pitchers did a wonderful job of limiting the damage as they stranded 11 runners and allowed just four runs to come in and score. Offensively, ETSU continued to pound the baseball with eight extra-base hits with three of those being home runs. With those factors working together, the Bucs tallied their second run-rule win over Siena in as many days, 14-4.

Fueled by a combined effort between starter George Derrick Floyd, eventual victor Yates Bland (1-1) and closer Anthony Hauser (2), The Citadel (6-4) managed to secure the program's first series win of the young 2025 campaign against Yale (3-2) in game two of the three-game set, shutting out the visiting Bulldogs via a 2-0 mark for the second straight time Saturday evening at Joseph P.
