Baseball Corrals Longwood for Tuesday Night Victory in Greensboro
The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team earned an 8-4 victory over the Longwood Lancers in non-conference action on Tuesday night at UNCG Baseball Stadium. It was UNCG's 20th victory of the season, marking the 33rd time reaching the 20-win plateau in the program's 35-season history. The Lancers got on the board first in the opening frame when James Nelson hit a three-run home run over the wall in right-center. The Spartans answered with Jacob Budzik hitting into a fielder's choice to score a run with the bases loaded. Then Brantley Truitt scored from third in the next at-bat on a wild pitch. After one inning, Longwood led UNCG by one, 3-2.
