Wofford 13, Ohio 12
Sophomore Ryan Wynn led the charge for the Wofford baseball team, making history with a cycle as the Terriers downed Ohio 13-12 Sunday afternoon at Russell C. King Field. Wofford improves to 3-0 as the Bobcats drop to 0-3. This is Wofford's first true opening sweep since taking all three against Binghamton in 2020. Wofford has won its first three games in back-to-back seasons after splitting its first three wins last year between Bucknell and Towson.
VMI 14, Maryland Eastern Shore 8
The Keydets, who move to 4-0, posted nine runs in the final three innings to earn a 14-8 victory over the Hawks on Military Appreciation Sunday. With the four wins, VMI is now 19-0 against UMES. For the first time since 2010, VMI has won their first four contests of the season while tallying 54 runs, the most in program history. It is also the first time in program history that the Keydets have scored double-digit runs in their first four games.
Mercer 10, Milwaukee 3
Six Mercer pitchers limited Milwaukee to five hits without surrendering a walk and the Bears offense banged out 12 hits in a convincing 10-2 win to take the series on Sunday at OrthoGeorgia Park. After a back-and-forth first four and half innings, newcomer Drew Johnson broke the game open with a three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth, his first hit in a Mercer uniform.
Samford 15, Valparaiso 5
Samford catcher Cade Carr drove in seven runs to lead the Bulldog baseball team to a 15-5, seven inning win over Valparaiso to complete the series sweep of the Beacons Sunday afternoon at Joe Lee Griffin Field. With the win, Samford improved its season record to 3-0. Valparaiso fell to 0-3 with the loss.
Georgia Southern 11, Western Carolina 5
Trailing for the first time after a two-spot Georgia Southern put on the board in the home half of the third inning, Western Carolina responded with a four-run fourth to surge back in front of Sunday's series finale at J.I. Clements Stadium, 5-2. However, ignited by a five-run fifth, the Eagles closed the game with nine unanswered runs to complete the season-opening sweep over the Catamounts, 11-5.
Creighton 17, UNCG 1
The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) baseball team fell 17-1 in the series finale against the Creighton Bluejays on Sunday after winning the first two games of the three-game slate on Friday at UNCG Baseball Stadium. The Bluejays scored Sunday's first run in the second inning when Will MacLean sent a no-doubt two-run home run over the wall in left. MacLean did it again in the third inning. With another runner standing on second, he blasted a second no-doubt homer out to right to make it 4-0 Bluejays.
